Our pieces are made to be worn and used, not kept in a drawer. With a bit of simple care, your Sheep Studio bag, scarf or handwarmers will keep their shape and soft texture for a long time.
Crochet bags
Our bags are crocheted in sturdy cotton cord. It holds its shape well but still appreciates gentle care.
- Cleaning: Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap whenever possible.
- Deeper clean: If needed, handwash gently in cool water with a small amount of mild detergent. Do not wring or twist.
- Drying: Reshape the bag, stuff it lightly with a towel to support the form and dry flat, away from direct heat or strong sun.
- Avoid: Bleach, tumble drying and hanging the bag when it’s wet – all of these can stretch or distort the shape.
Scarves & handwarmers – wool and wool blends
Most of our scarves and handwarmers are made in soft wool or wool-blend yarns. They are warm, light and a bit delicate.
- Washing: Handwash in cool water (30°C max) with a gentle wool detergent.
- Rinse: Press out excess water carefully – never wring.
- Drying: Lay flat on a clean towel, reshape softly and let it dry naturally.
- Avoid: Machine washing on regular cycles, tumble drying, bleach and fabric softener.
General care & storage
Pilling: A little pilling on wool pieces is natural with wear. You can gently remove it with a fabric shaver or a knitwear comb – or very carefully with a clean body-hair razor. Always use light pressure and test on a small, hidden area first.
Storage: Store your pieces folded, not hanging, to avoid stretching. Keep them in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
Snags: If a loop gets caught, don’t cut it. Gently pull the surrounding fabric to ease the stitch back into place, or contact us if you’re unsure.
