About Sheep Studio
Sheep Studio is a small-batch crochet and knit label based in Croatia.
We make bags, handwarmers and scarves in minimal shapes, with soft textures and a quiet boldness. Every piece is made to order in limited runs, with a lot of attention to colour and detail.
Our Story
Sheep Studio began in a small physical shop on the coast, with a few shelves of crochet and knit pieces and a lot of curiosity about how people would react to them. Crochet and knitting had been there long before the shop – a calm, repetitive practice that grounded us – but the response from visitors made it clear this could be more than a private habit.
The online shop is simply the next step: the same way of working, the same focus on textiles, just easier to reach from wherever you are.
How we make
We work mostly with crochet and bring in knit details where they feel right – like the soft rib on the handwarmers. The rhythm of making is slow and meditative, but we’re quite particular about the outcome: proportions, edges, tension and colour pairings are all considered carefully.
We’re drawn to materials that feel genuinely soft and tactile – wool, cotton and yarns that come from real fibres rather than plastic shine. There’s something satisfying about taking a strand that started on an animal or a plant and reshaping it into something quiet but present.
How we see fashion
We’re not interested in fast, throwaway pieces. So much of mainstream fashion is built on overproduction and harsh materials that don’t age well. What we want instead are fewer pieces that feel considered: good yarns, simple shapes, and finishes that feel clean rather than fussy.
Sheep Studio sits somewhere between everyday and special: pieces you can wear with jeans, coats and knits you already own, but that still shift how you feel when you put them on.
Why “Sheep Studio”
The name is a little bit tongue-in-cheek and a little bit serious. A sheep looks soft and gentle, but it’s also resilient and able to withstand a lot more than it seems at first glance. That balance of softness and quiet strength is something we keep coming back to.
Sheep Studio is our space for exploring that kind of softness – feminine, calm, textured – without making it overly sweet or naive.
What you can expect
When you order from Sheep Studio, your piece is made to order, not taken from a large warehouse. That means there is a short waiting time while it’s being made, but it also means small batches, less waste and more attention on each item. Tiny variations in tension or texture are normal and are part of the charm of a handmade piece.
Our aim is straightforward: pieces that feel special and a little bold, that make you feel more confident and put-together, and that you actually want to reach for in your everyday life.
